Every Year awaits a New Me



Every year we achieve a change, we go through a long process. But, why are we desperate to change? Why can’t we be contented to what we were last year? We wont ever stay what we were seeing that we are trying to be a better person. We don’t hold on to the same person we were last year.Instead, we hold on to the lessons and memories.

Every year ends, a bunch of realizations will come in mind and it will be up to us if we either grow from these realizations we had come up with or it will just stay as a mere thought. 2024 is yet another year to try. Every year we are privileged enough to correct any misconceptions we had last year.Every year we get a chance to refine what is needed to be refined. 

Realizations makes the most of us. It will mold us to be able to know who and what we are. These realizations wont always be positive as there are no perfect individual. Accepting criticism from yourselves or others will also be a fundamental building block for improvement, you can always start learning how to accept these from realizing. 

Distiguishing the mistakes and flaws I had shared last year had resulted me to acknowledge which part I should be more sensitive on and hold myself accountable with it by reflecting and apologizing to someone I had caused pain.However, I realized that I tend to make the same mistakes over and over again. This year, I’d like to correct myself about my misconception on apologizing. Saying “sorry” without a change or an improvement is just mere manipulation. Everyone don’t get to do mischievous acts just because you can apologize for it. Apology isn’t a ticket for doing something naughty again. Apology is not an undo button where you can heal the wound you had caused to someone 

Catching opportunities is also something I want to work on for this year. These opportunities will certainly give me the knowledge and experience I can apply in life. “Experience is the best mentor”, they say in which I utmostly agree. These experiences help us to comprehend a certain aspect and also builds a deeper connection with the lesson. 

All in all, there are only people who are trying to be better. In life, it doesn’t matter who will live and be the richest or the most obedient. What does matter is who will try against all odds. Every year we get to rethink and try.

122nd High School Day

 The preparation for the 122nd High School day was a struggle, for both teachers and students. There were practice sessions for the field demonstration that required students to participate, props that are needed to be made, and class hours that were compressed in order to have enough time to practice. Although, it was all worth it when I saw that each one of us were smiling throughout the day. The Field demonstration involved the every students to perform, from grade 7 to 10. Each grade level has their own festival to perform.  In Grade 10, we performed Sinulog Festival. The boys garnered the title “CHAMPION, while the girls got 3rd Place in the field demo competition.  After the field demonstration, the school hosted a concert for a cause in which it involve the bands from the grade 10 special science class, the bands from the senior high school, and teachers.
