To quote Taylor Swift “argumentative, anithetical dream girl” , I like to think of myself as a woman who knows what she wants in life. I like to depict myself as someone who is a high maintenance lady — not the high maintenance who’s spending her money to luxury; but, a high maintenance woman who acknowledges her worth, class, and what she can offer to the table.
My name is Princess Veyonce Nuñez Reyes. “Princess” because my father wanted to treat me as if I was a royal, he wanted to treasure me considering that I am his first daughter. My name “Veyonce” is partly because of the Queen Bey herself. It is derived from the french and african surname “beyonce” which translates to “beyond others”. I am the eldest daughter, granddaughter and niece to my family. My baby brother whom I have 16 years gap with became my light to my dark and catastrophic life. Being the eldest, I had already adapted being on my own — that includes solving problems, making decisions, setting goals, taking control, taking risks, choosing my own battle, being my own person.
I was taught how to be independent early and so this had affected to how I connect to people once I grew older. Growing up I had faced alot of difficulties. But with these, I learned how to gain to one of my loses. I learned how to stand up again and again. Taylor Swift once said, “and if you never bleed you’ll never gonna grow” , this served as my assurance in my life that I should rather choose to struggle than to live comfortably in my comfort zone. With my previous experiences, staying in my comfort zone means I am not allowing myself to feel free, to learn, and to cultivate my mind and soul. They say “give yourself a credit for what you had achieved” but for me I do not own my achievements to some extent. I can never accomplish what I have if its not because of them. Them who chose to understood me, them who saw right through me, them who knew how to make me laugh, them who knew how to keep me going, and to them who chose me.To my friends in highschool, the people who might’ve not been with me since the start which I know for sure that they will be with be till the very end. I owe them my life. This is the reason why I treasure them the most. To Raven, Franklyn, Gianna, JC, Gracinja, Elaiza, Lyka, Alyssa, Angelo, Zithri, and Harmony, I might not say it much often but I see it golden and not black and white, like daylight.
I also see it golden, like daylight. To more laughters and cries with all of you. AND to our TS girlie, I am super duper proud of you :)
