MotHER’s Day



            Growing up, I looked up to my mother, up to this day. I have always viewed her as a heroine. I am a lucky daughter to have her as my mother because I am certain that it is not the same for everyone. My mother is the reason why I think of every mother as someone who is capable in everything, who has undeniable strength and bravery, who have enough love to empathize. These are the few out of all the million reasons why we celebrate Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is a celebration where we honor our mothers for all of their sacrifices and love that they showered us since the day we were conceived.


Filipinos traditionally celebrates Mother’s day by giving their mothers cards, gifts, flowers, or eating   outside. Some even spend Mother’s Day with their   whole family where generations of mothers are present. They more the merrier, as they say. In the Philippines, the mothers are treated extra special on Mother’s day. Their children treat their mother even   more with love, care, and affection. Husbands usually cooks and do all the household chores during Mother’s Day so the mothers can spend their day stress-free. Filipinos goes all out on Mother’s Day. 

Nonetheless, after all of the struggles, hardwork, and sacrifices they have made, our mothers deserve more than a one-day-celebration. All in all, they deserve the best. At the end of the day, it is never about the gifts or flowers that makes it special, it is all about how they see you grow into a person they raised and wished you to be.

122nd High School Day

 The preparation for the 122nd High School day was a struggle, for both teachers and students. There were practice sessions for the field demonstration that required students to participate, props that are needed to be made, and class hours that were compressed in order to have enough time to practice. Although, it was all worth it when I saw that each one of us were smiling throughout the day. The Field demonstration involved the every students to perform, from grade 7 to 10. Each grade level has their own festival to perform.  In Grade 10, we performed Sinulog Festival. The boys garnered the title “CHAMPION, while the girls got 3rd Place in the field demo competition.  After the field demonstration, the school hosted a concert for a cause in which it involve the bands from the grade 10 special science class, the bands from the senior high school, and teachers.  Dear Mr. President,      I admire your capability of controlling the minds of gullible filipinos rather than controlling the country leading to its development.Other than that, I also wish to utter my fondness unto your "bagong pilipinas" as a new governance brand.Although, I also want to question whether it is for a whole history revision or merely for the betterment of the country?       To be frank, I have never believed in your words as you had never proved any of it with actions.
